Simplenote supports MarkDown so if you are going down the developer path you can sharpen your MD skills in Simplenote. Automatic is the company behind WordPress so they know cloud! It syncs to the cloud using the Automatic servers. It's available for Mac, IOS, Linux, Windows, and Android so it fits my work life perfectly since I use all of those operating systems. This is a free (for now anyway) note-taking app from Automatic.
